Flower Hill Farm was settled in 1772 with the building of a one room stone cabin and completion of an American Chestnut hewn beam bank barn in 1774. The Farm, originally 148 acres was part of a larger property owned by the Himmelberger Family. Jesse Shock married Rebecca Himmelberger, . They raised 3 children in the stone cabin. Jesse and his second wife, also named Rebecca, built the front addition, a brick 4 bedroom farmhouse with a wrap around porch. The property saw some misfortune during the early 1900's and was sold at sherriff sale 3 times. During prohibition, it's rumored that the farm produced more than hay and corn, hence the name Bootleg Road. The current owner bought the property in 2000 in a state of great disrepair. Flower Hill Farm has been lovingly restored as a horse breeding and boarding farm, home to a number of rescue animals and refuge for all things country.
